The D & D Roller Shutters Fire Flame Shutter will not only secure your property from unwanted intruders but in the unlikely event of fire it will create an effective barrier providing valuable time for evacuation and help prevent the spread of fire to other areas of the building. Our fire shutter is available in 3 options : 1 Hour, 2 Hour and 4 Hour integrity ratings.
Fire Shutters that Work Safe and Fast
- The D & D Roller Shutters Fire Flame Shutter is designed to automatically close during a fire alarm test but more importantly during an emergency situation.
- In the event that a fire alarm is activated the shutter will descend to create a fire resistant barrier allowing for safe evacuation and protecting the premises from the further spread of fire.
- In the event of a power failure the shutter will close using a separate battery backup.
Fire Redundant Shutters: Independently Tested
All of our fire shutters have been rigorously tested and approved by Exova Warringtonfire. Exova Warringtonfire offers independent fire engineering, testing and certification services that are a globally-respected mark of quality assurance. The fire resistance performance of our shutters have been tested to the latest standard – BS EN 16034:2014 that came in to force 1stNovember 2019 This replaces the previous test certificate BS476: Part 22: 1987. Please note fire shutters previously tested to BS 476 part 22 are no longer certified as fire shutters

Audio Visual Warning for Fire Shutters
- As an optional extra an audio and visual device can be fitted.
- When the fire alarm is activated a warning flashing light commences and an audio warning is transmitted to alert others that there is an emergency in the building and that the fire shutter will start to close.

Technical Information of Fire Rated Security Roller Shutters
Size Limitations: Minimum width: 800 mm, Minimum Height 800 mm, Maximum Width: 7000 mm, Maximum Height: 4600 mm. Sizes can vary according to integrity rating and larger sizes require a hood support bracket.
Curtain: A single skin 75 mm scrolled or 50 mm flat galvanised steel slat Weight: 50 mm flat slat 10 kg/m2 Weight: 75 mm scrolled slat 10 – 16.5 kg/m2 dependent upon the size of the curtain and integrity rating The product is available galvanised as standard or powder coated to RAL or BS colour at extra cost
Bottom Rail: T Sectioned steel bottom slat 49 mm high x 74 mm deep
Guide Rails: 3 mm thick galvanised steels channels 50 mm or 65 mm deep, depending upon shutter width mounted on steel angles for fixing. Available for face or reveal installations. Specify on order.
Axels: 101.6 mm (1.6 mm), 101.6 mm (3.2 mm) 5”, 5 1/2” or 6 5/8” round steel barrels are used depending on the product size.
Shutterbox: Galvanised steel endplates welded to the top of the guide assembly, in a flag arrangement with a two piece box assembly. Boxes are supplied in sleeved sections to allow for expansion in 250 mm, 300 mm and 350 mm sizes depending upon shutter height.
Motor: The fire curtain is powered using a 240 V AC tubular motor which is supplied as standard with a 2.5 m 4 core cable.
Controls: FS control panel with separate battery backup Fire alarm interface relay with separate battery back up
Installation: Face or reveal fit to masonry, concrete or fire protected steel with at least the fire resistance rating of the product being fitted.
Colour Choices for Fire Shutters
- Fire Shutters can be supplied in galvanized steel as standard.
- Available in standard white(ral 9010), cream(ral 1015), or brown(ral 8014) at a small cost.
- Alternatively, we can powder coat to any RAL colour, a service we provide at cost.
